Karnataka plans centre to sort out AI misuse, unethical trade practices

Karnataka is likely to have a ‘Centre for Internet of Ethical Things’, perhaps, the world’s first, which will seek to ensure ethical practices in trade and businesses, besides addressing issues like misuse of artificial intelligence, a concern that has been bothering business leaders across the globe.

 

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, chief minister BS Yediyurappa signed an informal agreement with Murat Sonmez, the forum’s managing director,

Union Government signed MoU with Flipkart company under DAY-NULM Scheme

 

The Union Government of India signed MoU with Flipkart company for selling the products made by women self-help groups under the scheme Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM). Under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) scheme, self-help groups consisting of 44 lakh women working across the country, a move aimed at making women financially independent.

 

Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana is the scheme where the women work towards alleviating urban poverty through strong community institutions, skill training, access to affordable credit for self-employment, support for street vendors.

 

Indian govt to give 5G spectrum for trails to all telecom players

 

The Indian government decided to allocate spectrum to all telecom operators and equipment makers for the upcoming 5G trials in the country. The announcement made by India’s federal technology and communications minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad. The government decided to give 5G Spectrum for a trial to all operators in the country. The Chinese telecom equipment maker Huawei to conduct super-fast speed 5G network trials in India. Indian telecom industry. We have our full confidence in the Modi government to drive 5G in India. Ministry of External Affairs created new emerging and strategic technologies NEST

 

External affairs ministry declared the setting up of new emerging and strategic technologies (NEST) division. The division will work to increase investment coordination among the states of the country and also with the foreign countries.

 

NEST act as the nodal division within the ministry for issues about new and emerging technologies. It will help in collaboration with foreign partners in the field of 5G and artificial intelligence. The division holds responsibility for matters that involve negotiations with multilateral fora like the United Nations, G20. This will help to safeguard India’s interests as such forums govern the rules of access to such technologies.NEST helps the country to partner with other countries in the areas of 5G and artificial intelligence.

 

Huwaei customers with the Chinese government to participate in 5G trials. The central government quick on adopting the new technologies, and the development has come at the time when the reports have suggested that the Indians are among the most optimistic about new technology.

 

Union Government sanctions 2,636 EV charging stations in 62 cities

 

The union government approved setting up 2,636 electric vehicle charging stations across 62 cities in 24 states and union territories of India under the second phase of the FAME India scheme. The move meant to encourage manufacturers to launch new electric vehicle models. The charging station will be available of the selected cities in a grid of 4 km x 4 km boost the confidence of users of electric vehicles in terms of range anxiety and also this will encourage the OEMs to launch the new electric vehicle models which they were hesitant because of lack of charging infrastructure.

 

The second phase of Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India (FAME India), 317 EV charging stations allotted in Maharashtra, 266 in Andhra Pradesh, 256 in Tamil Nadu, 228 in Gujarat, 205 in Rajasthan, 207 in Uttar Pradesh, 172 in Karnataka, 159 in Madhya Pradesh, 141 in West Bengal, 138 in Telangana, and 131 in Kerala.  The 72 EV charging stations will set up in Delhi, 70 in Chandigarh, 50 in Haryana, 40 in Meghalaya, 37 in Bihar, 29 in Sikkim, 25 each in Jammu & Kashmir and Chhattisgarh, 20 in Assam, 18 in Odisha and ten each in Uttarakhand, Puducherry and Himachal Pradesh.

 

 

 

India ranked 34th on world travel, tourism competitiveness index

 

According to WEF report, India has moved up six places to rank 34th on world travel and tourism competitiveness index.

India’s ranking improved from 40th to 34th, the greatest improvement over 2017 among the top 25 percent of all countries ranked in the report.

Spain held on to the top spot in the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) latest Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report (TTCR), which ranked 140 countries on their relative strengths in global tourism and travel.

Spain was followed by France, Germany and Japan, with the United States replacing the UK in the top five.
