Karnataka Budget 2021: Emergency units in Mysuru to commence at cost of Rs 5 crore
Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa has announced a slew of new projects for the districts of the south Karnataka region in his budget speech.
The new announcements include action to complete expeditiously works of Rs 384 crore Shivamogga airport, commencement of regional cancer treatment centres in Shivamogga and Mysuru at an expenditure of Rs 100 crore, AYUSH university in Shivamogga, and establishment of a research centre at an expenditure of two crore rupees in the Veterinary College, Shivamogga to promote the incorporation of ayurvedic medicines in veterinary science,
CM also announced Rs 25 crore to promote research on yellow leaf disease which is haunting arecanut growers and alternate crops in the malnad region.
In a big boost to the tourism activities, CM Yediyurappa announced development of a park downstream Kabini dam of Mysuru District at an expenditure of Rs 50 crore through Kaveri Niravari Nigama.
CM also announced development of eco-tourism including wildlife safari in Gopinatham area of Chamarajanagara district with an expenditure of Rs 5 crore. He also announced development of turmeric market in the district.
CM announced action to commence the works of Hassan airport at an expenditure of Rs 175 crore. He also proposed increase of 100 post-graduate seats in Hassan and Mandya Medical Science Institutes from the current year.
Mandya also found mention in the CM’s budget speech. CM announced a grant-in-aid of Rs 10 crore to ‘Adichunchanagiri Natha Heritage Centre’ being established in Adichunchanagiri Kshetra of Mandya district.
He proposed upgradation of Mandya stadium with an expenditure of Rs 10 crore.
CM proposed development of tourism potential of Kemmannugundi in Chikkamagaluru district.
CM announced theatrical performances of Dr. S.Bhyrappa’s ‘Parva’ through Rangayanas throughout the state.

Global Ayurveda Festival from 12th 19th March
The Prime Minister delivered a speech at the 4th Global Ayurveda Festival. The 4th Global Ayurveda Festival (GAF 2021) aims to discuss and develop Ayurveda on a global scale. About Global Ayurveda Festival:
The 4th Global Ayurveda Festival (GAF 2021) aims to discuss and develop Ayurveda on a global scale. This is a virtual gathering that will be held in March 12 – 19, 2021.
The event demonstrated that Ayurveda, as a global treatment programe, will become a meeting place for people all over the world who are working hard to achieve this goal.
The festival was originally scheduled to be held in Angamaly, Kerala in May 2020, but it was postponed due to the pandemic.
Led by the Ayurveda Medical Association of India (AMAI) Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA), the Ayurveda Hospital Management Association organized the conference in collaboration with 14 organizations.
The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry is a festival and industry partner.
The conference (including many seminars) will focus on the relevance of Ayurveda in the post-COVID world and the potential of Ayurveda in enhancing immunity.
The exhibition will be held online and there will be booths of Ayurvedic companies from all over the world.

Sahitya Akademi Awards Was Announced on 12th March
The National Academy of Letters announced the name of the “2020 Sahitaya Akademi Award” on March 12, 2021. These names were announced during the opening of the annual “Literature Festival” event. Highlights:
The award will be awarded to politician writer M Veerappa Moily, poet Arundhathi Subramaniam and 20 other writers. Subramaniam’s collection of poems “When God is a Traveler” won the grand prize in English. Veerappa Moily was named Kannada for his epic poems, named “Sri Bahubali Ahimsa Digvijayam”. This list includes seven poems, five short stories, four novels, two plays, one memoir, and one epic, including 20 Indian languages.
The awards for Nepali, Malayalam, Odiya and Rajasthani languages will be announced later.
In the “Poetry Category”, the award was organized by Harish Menaksi (Gujarati), RS Bhaskar (Konkani), Anamika (Hindi), Irungbam Deven (Manipuri), Nikhileshwar (Thailand). Lugu) and Rupchand Hansda (Santali) awarded.
In the “novelty category”, Imaiyam (Tamil), Nanda Khare (Marathi), Mahesh Chandra Sharma Gautam (Sanskrit) and Sri Hussain-ul-Haque were named the winners. Apurba Kumar Saikia (Assamese), Hiday Koul Bharti (Kashmiri), Dharanidhar Owari (Bodo), Gurdev Singh Rupana (Punjabi) and Kamakant Jha (Maithili) won the short story award.
Selection Procedure: These books were selected based on the recommendations of a three-member jury in the relevant language. They made the final decision based on the procedures established for this purpose. According to the resolution, the Executive Board will announce the award based on the unanimous selection of the jurors or the selection of the majority vote.
The Sahitya Akademi Award is a literary honor in our country India. It was awarded by Sahitya Akademi, the National Writing Institute of India. The award is given to the most outstanding literary achievement books, which are published in any of the 24 major Indian languages, including Hindi, English and the other 22 languages of the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution. The award includes a casket, which consists of an engraved bronze plaque and a shawl, in the amount of 1,00,000 rupees.
First Virtual Trade Fair by APEDA
The Agricultural and Processed Food Export Development Agency (APEDA) launched its first virtual trade fair on March 10, 2021, and the fair will end on March 12, 2021. Highlights:
The trade fair is held to promote the export of agricultural products and processed foods. Due to restrictions related to COVID-19, APEDA proposed the concept of virtual trade fairs. It was established to maintain India’s agricultural and processed food exports.
The theme of the exhibition is “Indian Rice and Agricultural Products”. This expo will focus on showing the export potential of several agricultural products.
Importers and exporters will participate in virtual fairs. These potential buyers or importers and visitors will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of food products. These products will be displayed by exporters through virtual fairs.
The virtual trade fair will showcase several major products such as basmati rice, non-basmati rice, wheat, corn, millet, whole grains and peanuts. Up to now, 135 exhibitors have registered.
Agricultural and Processed Food Export Development Agency (APEDA): It is an active organization for Apex export trade promotion. It was established by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry under the “Agricultural and Processed Food Export Development Agency”. It was set by a parliamentary bill passed in December 1985. This agency entered into force on February 13, 1986.
